Responsibilities:

• Responsible for applicable systems related to plant customer issues such as corrective action requests, supplier corrective action requests, nonconforming material reports, etc.

• Lead containment activities.

• Facilitates continuous improvement quality activities to reduce the potential for defects and ensures continual improvement in process and product design.

• Ensures products and process development meet quality standards. Identifies problems, prioritizes actions, leads, or participates in Six Sigma projects.

• Participates in change management activities by verifying products and processes, developing key measures, analyzing data for decision support, and presenting results to plant leadership. Leads audits of processes and quality systems.

• Works with purchasing to improve the quality of purchased parts.

• Serves as a quality technical resource to other functional areas.

Competences:

1. Statistical Foundations – Applies statistical tools and techniques to influence decision making; leverages understanding of data collection methods, key statistics, graphical and analytical methods to describe process performance, gain insights and drive improvement action. Applies and manages methods (e.g. SPC, Capability studies, Layered Process Audit, inspection, test) to ensure quality of Cummins products, processes, and services.

2. Measurement Science – Analyzes measurement processes throughout the relevant traceability chain to identify and quantify sources of measurement uncertainty relevant to the appropriate applied measurement science, “Metrology” e.g. Chemical, Dimensional, Electrical, Mechanical, Optical and Radiation and Physical. Solid Knowledge in GD&T is relevant.

3. Manages conflict – Handling conflict situations effectively, with a minimum of noise.

4. Supplier Quality Management – Leads all aspects of supplier quality management; helps develop strategy and collaborative supplier partnerships; identifies supplier innovation capabilities; contributes to supplier audit and certification process; tracks supplier performance metrics and acts to quickly resolve issues to improve supplier quality performance.

5. Problem Solving – Solves problems using a systematic analysis process by leveraging industry standard methodologies to create problem traceability and protect the customer; determines the assignable cause; implements robust, data-based solutions; identifies the systemic root causes and recommended actions to prevent problem reoccurrence.

6. Advanced Product Quality Planning – Leads the technical quality planning and ensures customer satisfaction through structured and measurable processes as defined by industry standard.

Prior experience:

-Previous experience with computer applications and software related to engineering field, such as Computer Aided Design (CAD). 8-10 years’ experience required

-Research and test the design, functionality and maintenance of products, equipment, systems and processes and develop quality standards. Ability to read and interpret blueprints and evaluate product integrity and standard

Please ensure soft skills are being screened before candidates are being submitted. The manager is looking for someone that can have minimal supervision, propose solutions, manage ambiguity, problem solve, demonstrate positive and purposeful attitude.

The working hours are 9pm-7:30am; Sunday-Friday. This role is onsite. This position will be working 5-6 days per week with a minimum of 50 hours per week. Bachelor’s degree is required preferred degree in engineering.

When the manager is ready, she will be requesting 1-hour interviews. These interviews will be conducted between the hours of 5am with the last interview being scheduled by 9am.
